Today's sermon by Pastor Robb is not about debating or convincing anyone they are wrong. This sermon is about being able to give a defense with a biblical application in mind. God's sovereign election, according to Scripture, is important to how we view God and how we view our place in His kingdom purpose. Sermon: Chosen in Christ, Part 4 (Ephesians 1:4-6).
The assurance of salvation is built on God's sovereign election. This should be to no one's surprise. If the sovereignty of God is not in question; then how can we debate His sovereignty over salvation. As Pastor Robb continues his sermon series on Ephesians, this passage this section of Ephesians can't be rushed through, but should be intricately exegete so we can understand Paul's meaning of God's election. We might never truly understand the doctrine of election, but we should always praise the glory of God's saving grace.
Sermon: Chosen in Christ, Part 3 (Ephesians 1:4-6).
Salvation doesn't come to those who are particularly good, special or more deserving than others. Salvation is given to the holiest people. We are all born sinners and undeserving of God's gift of salvation. None of us deserves anything but the full fury of God's wrath due to our sin-stained souls. Yet, in His infinite mercy, grace, and sovereignty; God has provided those who He had predestined the gift of salvation. But it is for His glory, not our own. Enjoy this morning's sermon as we see how God chooses whom He will choose.
Sermon: Chosen in Christ, Part 2 (Ephesians 1:4-6).
Why did God save us? What makes us more special than the unsaved person? These are questions to ponder when considering why God elects believers for salvation. We may never have considered these questions because, in some people's minds, it doesn't matter. All the matters to some Christians are the fact that they are saved. The "how" or "why" doesn't matter in the bigger picture. While this may be true, and the theology may not be judged; we still need to be able to answer questions that are prompted when we come to passages such as Ephesians 1:4-6. Here is a passage that speaks to God's election and why He chose some of us for this special gift? I would ask again, as you listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb, why are some of us chosen in Christ?
Sermon: Chosen In Christ, Part 1 (Ephesians 1:4-6)
Does it matter how I came to Christ if I am His? This is the sentiment of many Christians. What does it matter if I am a member of the family of God? The answer should be obvious; it matters how you see salvation because it matters how we see God. If God is sovereign over all creation; how could His sovereignty end at salvation? As Pastor Robb continues his sermon series on Ephesians; we come to the doctrine of election. This is a doctrine the is crucial in how we see God and how we view our salvation. Many believe and some do not, but we are Chosen in Christ.
