Sermon: Luke 11:29-36 - The Only Sign for a Wicked Generation. After Jesus cast a demon out a man, some onlookers were seeking a sign from heaven to verify that He was indeed the Messiah. This group of skeptics seemed well-intentioned enough, wanting to see more evidence for Jesus' claims, yet Jesus issued His most scathing rebuke against them, promising them only one sign: the sign of Jonah. What is this sign? And how does it relate to Jesus? Listen to this week's sermon as we look at Luke 11:29-36 and Jesus' words to skeptics.

Sermon: Luke 11:24-28 - True or False Conversion? In this week's sermon, we take a look at a peculiar saying of Jesus involving a demonic spirit that leaves a person, vainly looks for rest, and then returns. What is the point of this saying of Jesus? Meanwhile, a woman from the crowd interrupts Jesus as He is speaking, which turns into an opportunity for Jesus to draw a contrast between true and false conversion. Listen to this week's sermon to find out what it means to be truly converted and to find out the dangers of thinking you belong to Jesus when in reality you do not.

In this sermon we begin to unfold why you should follow Jesus in repentance and faith by looking at a group of people who rejected Him and His works. What was their reason for rejecting Jesus, and what does their rejection of the Lord tell us about the true nature of the human heart?

One of the greatest impediments to effective prayer is low confidence that prayer matters, that prayer is significant, or that God will answer the prayers of His people. So how can we gain such confidence? In this sermon, we wrap our series on prayer by studying Jesus' teaching about why the believer should have confidence in God's willingness to answer prayer.

Sermon: Luke 11:2 - How to Pray, Part 2. When we come into the Lord's presence for prayer, what's the first thing on our minds? Is it a trial we are enduring? Maybe it's a particular temptation pressing hard upon us. Or perhaps we are concerned about health or our daily provisions. Maybe we are aware of our sinfulness and our need for forgiveness. Jesus, however, instructs us how to pray, and the focus of our prayers should never begin with ourselves. So, how should our prayers begin? Where should our focus be when we pray? That's the subject of this week's sermon. We continue our study of the Lord's Prayer with this sermon entitled "How to Pray, Part 2."

Should we kneel, stand, sit, or lie prostrate on the floor? What about content? What should we say when we come to the Lord in prayer? In this week's sermon, we look at all of these questions from Luke 11:2. Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, and what He emphasized first might surprise you. Listen to this week's sermon to learn more.

Sermon: Luke 11:1 - Lord, Teach Us to Pray. Saying a prayer is a simple thing to do, so simple even a child can do it. But what about sustaining a vibrant life of prayer? For most Christians, prayer is exceedingly difficult, especially when it comes to cultivating a deep, enjoyable prayer life that is consistent over the long term. These struggles are not unique to us. The disciples themselves understood the difficulty of prayer, and they asked the Lord for help. In this sermon on Luke 11:1, we see why the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. This sermon also helps us see our need for the Lord to teach us what it means to pray in the Spirit according to the truth.
