Sermon: Understanding Spiritual Gifts Today.

What has God called you to do?  How is your gift to be used in the church?  We all have a gift that should be used for God's glory and for equipping/strengthening the church.  But, many people aren't sure if they have a gift or what gifts are still current for today's churches.  We live in a time where people profess to have certain gifts that, some would argue, are not current for today.  In this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb, we learn what the Bible teaches about the state of spirituals gifts.  Prayerfully as we listen we can which understand spiritual gifts are for today.

Cessation or Continuation: Are the Revelatory Gifts for Today? (Selected Scriptures).

There are spiritual gifts that are given for the building of the body but are all the gifts still active today.  We have healing, but do we have the gift of healing gifts?  We have wisdom, but do we have the gift of wisdom? God is able to do anything, but does that mean God still uses certain gifts.  If you have ever had questions about the activity of certain spiritual gifts, please take the opportunity to listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb.  Then maybe you will be able to decide are the revelatory gifts for today.

Sermon: The Meaning and Purpose of Tongues and Prophecy (Selected Scriptures).

The use of tongues is foreign to some Christians today.  Some of us have never been in church service where someone suddenly stood up and started speaking in a strange dialect.  It could be during prayer, during a worship song, or even in the middle of a sermon.  It can be quite shocking the first time it happens, but then it becomes commonplace.  But, it this proper for the church today, should someone speaking in tongues or give a prophecy from the Lord.  These and other questions will be answered by Pastor Robb in this morning's sermon.

Sermon: The Meaning and Purpose of Spiritual Gifts: (Selected Scriptures).

Many of us have been asked; "what is your spiritual gift"?  And while some of us may know how we are spiritually gifted; many may not even realize that they have a spiritual gift or what exactly a spiritual gift may be.  Do we all have a spiritual gift and if so, what are we to do with our gift?  If you have never studied any of the aspects of spiritual gifting, then this sermon series from Pastor Robb is what you need to hear.  Enjoy this morning's sermon on the meaning and purpose of spiritual gifts and may the Lord open our hearts to be used for His glory.

The Danger of Drifting (2 Timothy 4:10).

There is a danger when we drift too far from God.  He is our shelter, our refuge, and our stronghold.  When we drift too far from God and Christ; we are only left with ourselves and what the world tells us is safe.  We can no longer be deceived by the world's wisdom, we must depend on the word of God to instruct us on where our anchor should be.  If you are a drifter, or if you are not sure if you are a drifter, please listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Justin Erickson.  We are prone to wonder, but God never wonders from us.

Commission and Ascension: Jesus' Return to Heaven (Luke 24:45-53).

This is the last sermon in the series on Luke, yet it one of the most important to the faith of the believer.  Before Jesus' return to Heaven, He commands all disciples to a commission. This commission is vital to the kingdom of God; we are to be witnesses and proclaim Jesus Christ to the world.  This was the same commission of the Apostles and it hasn't changed in over 2000 years. Yet, don't truly understand how we are to do this.  To hear how we are to fulfill Jesus' commission, please enjoy this last sermon on Luke's epistle.  Let us praise our Lord and savior who still sits at the right hand of God.

The Key that Unlocks the Bible (Luke 24:44-47).

We can't understand it without Him. We couldn't appreciate the depth or wealth of the knowledge contained in it.  We won't read it with hunger and desire without Him.  This is the Bible and Jesus.  Without Jesus; the Bible is nothing more to us than a book of stories.  But, with the fulfillment, interpretation, and theme of Jesus; the Bible now become all about Him.  If you have a desire to no what the keys to unlock the Bible are; please enjoy this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb.  Jesus is present through all of Scripture.

Proof of Jesus' Resurrection (Luke 24:36-43).

Jesus appeared to His disciples, yet they could not comprehend His presence.  They thought Jesus was a ghost until He showed His nail-pierced hands and feet.  Jesus appeared to show them He had really risen. But, they were living in doubt.  The faith of the disciples had disappeared as quickly as it took His followers to place Him in the tomb.  Jesus appeared to show them He had truly been resurrected.  But, why were they troubled in their hearts?  Did the faith of the disciples increase?  To see the proof of Jesus' resurrection, please listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb.

Seeing Jesus (Luke 24:28-35)

How do we respond when our hearts are troubled?  Do we keep our eyes upon Jesus or do we focus on the troubles around us?  We can have fellowship with the Lord because of the price He paid.  We can come to the Lord's table with hearts full of joy, peace, and contentment only because He still sits at the head of the table.  As we listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb, let us continue to hunger for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and keep our eyes upon Jesus.

The Path to Glory (Luke 24:13-27).

These traveling disciples were blinded to the fact that they were walking and talking to Jesus Christ.  They explained to the Crucified King all the devastating news of His own crucifixion.  These travelers were almost incredulous to have to explain this report of Jesus' suffering as well as their own. But, Jesus first listened, asked questions, then explained what it all meant.  The Teacher was still teaching.  As we listen to today's sermon by Pastor Robb, may our hope be found in the fact that our suffering is not to bring us pain, but to bring us to glory.

Apr 22, 2019

The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus (Luke 24:1-12).

The women went to the tomb to prepare the body of Christ.  But, when they arrived at His tomb; they were shocked to find Jesus was not there.  Jesus had Risen.  We should all be amazed that the power of death had no control over our savior.  We should be amazed that Jesus prophesied that it would happen.  Yet, the women would not remember and they would not be believed.  To find out why, please listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb.  The truth is worth celebrating:  He has risen!

Apr 15, 2019

The Burial of Christ (Luke 23:47-56).

The burial of Christ is central to the gospel message; yet, it is probably the least talked about part of the gospel doctrine.  We celebrate the birth of Christ.  We worship His death of the Cross.  We exalt His Resurrection.  But, we don't seem to think much of Jesus' burial.  At times, we see it as a mere blip or an afterthought in the gospel narrative.  However, there is an importance to this part of Jesus' three days.  To appreciate the significance of Jesus' burial, please listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb.  This is just the beginning of the Messiah's story.

The Death of Christ (Luke 23:44-46)

It is unbelievable that the death of an innocent man would mean so much to those of us who believe in Christ.  But, He had to endure not just the beatings, the mocking, and the fraudulent trials; Jesus had to endure death on the cross.  There is so much to understand about the death of Jesus Christ and if you ever wondered why did Jesus have to die;  here is another gospel-centric sermon by Pastor Robb. The death of Christ truly is the gospel message.

The Crucifixion of Christ, Part 3 (Luke 23:39-43).

Sadly, there are people sitting in churches all over the world today believing they are saved.  They may have heard the gospel and they may even believe that Jesus died on the cross. Yet, they have not been truly converted. They may not have had anyone ask them, "what does it mean to be a true convert of Christ?" If we were to be honest with ourselves; some of us have never been asked that question either.  But to find out what it means to be a true believer in Jesus Christ, please listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb. We can only rest in God's promises when we have been truly converted to Christ.

The Crucifixion of Christ, Part 2 (Luke 23:32-38).

Jesus was crucified between two thieves.  But, these were not some run of the mill thieves; these were violent evil doers.  Jesus, the innocent, sinless savior was sacrificed for the sins of the world between two sinful men. There is irony in the fact that Christ was killed between two men and the one man who should have been on the cross, Barabbass, was freed so Christ could fulfill the redemptive plan of God. Barabbas had to be freed so Christ could prove to the world that He was the coming Messiah.  Yet, the Roman and the Jewish leaders were ignorant of this fact.  But, why did Jesus have to die to prove this?  To hear the answer you must listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb.  The only things that matter is Christ crucified.

True Worship Q & A.

Many of you have questions about the worship service and how we are to worship with our fellow believers.  Today you get an opportunity to have your questions answered by Pastor Robb; as well as our worship leaders, Sam Stefanski, and Josh Stefanski.

The Crucifixion of Christ, Part 1 (Luke 23:26-31).

Jesus was being led to a hill called Golgotha and He was too weak to carry His own cross.  After Jesus endured hours of being sent back and forth between Pilate and Herod; He was mocked, beaten, and scourged.  Jesus was simply too weak to lift His own instrument of crucifixion. The Roman guards had to enlist someone else to help the King of glory.  This example of Simon carrying Jesus' cross has many implications for believers today. To hear the lessons from this part of Luke, please listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb and may we all understand what it means to be a true disciple of Christ.

True Worship, Part 2 (Selected Scriptures).
What is worship? What is the proper mindset when we enter into a time of worship with God? We should never enter into worshipping our Creator with a cavalier attitude. We should always be humble in our demeanor and our attitude. God is holy and we should be mindful of this fact when we are worshipping Him. But, how can our worship be God-centered if we are focusing on ourselves or not focused at all? This evening's sermon by Pastor Robb explores the meaning of True Worship and how we should worship in Spirit and truth.

YOU...With Me (Psalm 23).

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want."  These are perhaps the most popular words in Scripture.  Often recited, but both believers and unbelievers.  These are powerful words of strength, provision, security, and love from a Shepherd that loves His children; His sheep. While they may give comfort to all people; they are not meant for all people.  As you listen to this mornings sermon by Matthew Yeary; please hear how the great Shepherd gives comfort only for His redeemed sheep.  It is only the true believer who lacks for nothing.

Jesus On Trial, Part 4 (Luke 23:13-25).

Jesus was sentenced to death.  A treasonous murder was set free.  This is perhaps the weakest form of judgment from the most unjust ruler of all times.  Pilate sentence Jesus to an unjust death, even though he pronounced Jesus righteous and could find no crime against Him.  Why did Pilate give into the Jews?  Why did Pilate sentence the innocent Christ to death?  As we draw to a close on the sermon series of Luke; please hear how Pastor Robb explains the three gospel truths of this part of Jesus' trial.

Feb 27, 2019

True Worship, Part 5 (Selected Scriptures).

Worship should be a way of life for all believers.  We should have a fire in our hearts and souls to worship the Lord of creation during every moment of our lives.  Worship is not just about coming to church on Sunday's to sing and listen to the sermon.  Worship should permeate every part of our lives.  Do you have a true desire to worship God?  Do you have a true hunger for the worship of our Lord and Savior?  If you ever wanted to know about true worship, please listen to this powerful sermon from Pastor Robb.  Let us all learn what it means to truly worship our Lord.

Feb 27, 2019

Jesus on Trial, Part 3 (Luke 23:8-12).

The trial of Jesus continues as the true King is brought before Herod; one of the most incompetent and evil rulers of all time.  Herod wanted to meet Jesus only for entertainment; not for the truth.  He wanted to see Jesus perform a sign not for his faith, but for simple curiosity.  Herod questioned Jesus and received the coldest response; silence! As Pastor Robb continues through his sermon series through the gospel of Luke; please learn what happens when someone has an insincere belief in Christ Jesus.

Feb 20, 2019

True Worship, Part 4.

Attending the worship service on Sundays is more than just physically showing up. There should be real preparation involved, not only on the part of the worship team and the pastor who is delivering the sermon. Every believer coming to the worship service should be prepared to join in the worship of our Lord. But, how should we be preparing ourselves? Please listen to this evening's sermon by Pastor Robb to hear some practical lessons in preparing for true worship.

Feb 17, 2019

Jesus on Trial, Part 2 (Luke 23:1-7).

The sinfulness of man is still on trial.  Jesus' words were being used against Him to justify the sinful actions of these desperate men.  They were desperate to keep their power, desperate to keep their status and desperate to kill the true King.  Do we use Jesus' words to justify sinful behaviors?  Do our actions ever put Jesus on trial?  As Pastor Robb nears the end to his sermon series on Luke, please hear how Jesus continues to be placed on trial by deceitful and desperate men.

Sermon: Jesus on Trial, Part 1. (Luke 22:63-71)

Never has so much hatred been shown against the Savior of the world. Arrested, beaten, blindfolded, beaten, and then undergoing a mock trial. Yet, there He stood. Knowing it would all take place. Knowing He had to endure the harsh treatment, Jesus stood there and took the deepest levels of man's cruelty and hatred. Eventually, they tried to use Jesus' own words against Him. Yet, who was really on trial? Who would eventually be condemned? As you listen to this morning's sermon by Pastor Robb, learn who is really on trial and why Jesus had to endure the suffering though He was an innocent man.
